Advanced Molecular Sieve Technology Provides an Effective H2S Removal Solution
Liquid and gas treatment choices can be quite extensive with some overlap existing between various process applications. This can often make the choice of the best process rather difficult. Although simple technologies are used in many basic gas-processing applications, there are limitations regarding the application of such processes to larger systems for carbon dioxide removal, hydrogen sulfide removal and other contaminants. This is precisely when a molecular siege treatment is often the best choice.
A molecular siege is comprised of a crystalline, uniform structure that can be used to effectively filter contaminant molecules. These H2S removal sieves can be produced in various shapes and sizes to suit specific bed weights and applications. In most instances, the system will be designed to include multiple adsorber beds. The feed gas flows into the adsorber beds after going through an initial filter-separator scrubbing in order to remove solid particles and free liquid. The adsorber beds then remove any remaining contaminants. Gas flow can then be diverted to an alternative bed while the original bed is supplied with a dry, hot gas to regenerate the sieve and stave off contaminants. The bed can then be cooled and placed back on stream following regeneration. Molecular sieves offer a cost-effective and practical method for controlling and removing trace contaminants.
